The driveway is cleaned of all dirt and debris using high power blowers and commercial brooms. It is important before the driveway sealing can take place; the asphalt surface is cleaned. This allows for the product to adhere to the driveway and finish properly.
The Perimeters are protected using specialized painters’ tape and protective boards. Lots of our customers in Mississauga have beautiful borders installed around their asphalt driveway and rightfully want to make sure they are protected. Before the driveway sealing can commence, we ensure that all boarders are masked using our specialized painters’ tape. As a second line of defense, we also use edging boards to ensure absolutely no product ends up on any surface besides the asphalt.
The driveway sealer is applied through a spray system. It is agitated in a tank and sprayed onto the asphalt in an even manner. To ensure the driveway is sealed properly we use an overlapping approach. This prohibits the formation of streaks and allows enough sealer to be applied. Once the driveway sealing is complete, we ensure no vehicle or foot traffic by placing caution tape at the end. We advise the removal of caution tape after 8 hours of no traffic.
Our product is an asphalt-based product sourced from the manufacturer that creates asphalt for roads, parking lots, and driveways, Coco Paving. We strongly believe that this product is the best product for driveway sealing as it is the same product the asphalt is made up of. Over time the liquid asphalt from your driveway evaporates, leaving it grey, brittle, and prone to cracking. Our liquid asphalt driveway sealer penetrates the asphalt surface, restoring the elasticity, protecting it from further damage. Any other product used for driveway sealing is a water-based sealer and we do not recommend it for your driveway sealing needs.
