Asphalt Cut And Removal

First, the damaged asphalt that needs replacing must be cut out and removed from site. This is done using an asphalt saw and multiple tools to lift the asphalt from the surface. Potholes need to be cut so that the new asphalt can be laid against straight edges, prolonging its lifespan. Once the asphalt is cut out, it is placed into our disposal trucks and taken away to the asphalt plant.

Base Correction and Recompacting

Once the asphalt is cut out and removed, the underlying base must be corrected. Our technicians will rake and compact the base to ensure the correct level and so no sinkage will occur. This is an important step that needs to be carried out before the hot asphalt repair process can be completed.

Hot Asphalt Application

The hot asphalt sourced from the asphalt plant is removed from our state-of-the-art Marathon Hot Box and placed into the area in need of repair. The hot asphalt is rough raked, luked and compacted. Usually, the asphalt is applied in two layers, each compacted roughly 2 inches. Once the final layer of asphalt has been compacted The asphalt is left to cure.

Hot Rubber Bead

To ensure the gap between the newly paved asphalt and the existing pavement is sealed, we apply a hot rubber bead to the entire perimeter. This prevents any water from penetrating the asphalt repair work ensuring that the repair lasts a long time.

  I used to seal driveways using asphalt based tar. I was pleased to see that they used the exact same material. It’s the only thing you want on your driveway. The driveway just soaks it all up and what has dried up over time has been rejuvenated. It’s the same material you’re driveway is made from.
Now it’s black like the day I had it installed one year ago and the elasticity has been rejuvenated to prevent cracking. I’m 100% happy and fully satisfied.

  Canadian Asphalt Maintenance was actually the 3rd driveway sealing company I called. The first one was great in coming to give me a quote, but then kept making excuses as to when they could come and DO the actual work. I gave him 3 strikes and then moved on! The second one did not respond to any of my On-Line Quotes, or direct messages. I then contacted David through his Website and he replied the same day.   We had this company seal our driveway.  We gave them a chance a few years ago when they were a new company.  We had moss on the driveway that needed removing before it could be sealed.  Although the company said they could do the job, the moss was back within weeks and it looked like it had never been resealed.  Not recommended to have this company do work.
