Every asphalt surface is subject to deterioration over time. Heavy traffic, chemical spills, harsh weather conditions, water penetration and UV ray exposure are all factors leading to the untimely deterioration of asphalt and thus its need for repair. Our professional asphalt repair process includes the removal of the affected areas and its replacement with new hot asphalt. Before the new hot asphalt is set, the underlying base is reworked and compacted. Any soft spots are addressed, and more base is added as needed. The hot asphalt is applied and compacted to its needed depth, usually applied in two layers. Once compacted and flush with the existing asphalt surface, the perimeter of the new asphalt area is beaded with hot rubber. This ensures that water is unable to penetrate any gap between the new and existing asphalt. Once complete, the new asphalt patch is roped off from all impeding traffic for the duration of its curing time. There are numerous situations where our professional asphalt repair services are the efficient and effective solution to the problem. Asphalt potholes, catch basin repairs, cut out and patch areas and heaving asphalt areas are some of the situations we are called out to address. Asphalt Cut And Removal

Once the issues of your asphalt surface have been addressed, our fully trained and insured crew will show up to carry out the necessary work. First, the damaged asphalt that needs replacing must be cut out and removed from site. This is done using an asphalt saw and multiple tools to lift the asphalt from the surface. Potholes need to be cut so that the new asphalt can be laid against straight edges, prolonging its lifespan. Once the asphalt is cut out, it is placed into our disposal trucks and taken away to the asphalt plant.

Base Correction and Recompacting

Once the asphalt is cut out and removed, the underlying base must be corrected. Our technicians will rake and compact the base to ensure the correct level and so no sinkage will occur. This is an important step that needs to be carried out before the hot asphalt repair process can be completed.

Hot Asphalt Application

The hot asphalt sourced from the asphalt plant is removed from our state-of-the-art Marathon Hot Box and placed into the area in need of repair. The hot asphalt is rough raked, luked and compacted. Usually, the asphalt is applied in two layers, each compacted roughly 2 inches. Once the final layer of asphalt has been compacted The asphalt is left to cure.

Asphalt Repair Cut and Patch

Once the asphalt surface goes too long without maintenance, it loses its elastic component, and it starts to crack. If the cracks go unaddressed, eventually too many cracks form and the asphalt needs to be replaced. The deteriorated asphalt can be addressed by being cut out and replaced with new asphalt. Many commercial parking lots are repaired by removing sections of asphalt that have deteriorated and replacing them with new asphalt as need be. This allows the damaged and unsightly area to be replaced, prevents the damage from spreading to further areas of the asphalt surface and eliminates the costly need to replace the entire asphalt surface. Our cost effective and efficient solution of cutting and patching with new hot asphalt is the perfect way to repair and maintain your asphalt surface with limited disruptions to your daily operations. Catch Basin Repair

It is vital to the health of the asphalt surface that the water is flowing into the catch basin and off from the asphalt. Problems with the grade of area around the catch basin can cause water to pool on the asphalt. This leads to further deterioration and in colder weather can cause slipping hazards for pedestrians. Making sure the catch basin is working effectively and that the asphalt surrounding it is graded properly is essential to the health and safety of the property. Our catch basin repair service offers a full solution to the issue at hand. All damaged and off-grade asphalt is cut out and removed from around the catch basin. The base is assessed graded as necessary and recompacted. The catch basin is removed, and rings inspected for damage. The rings are replaced as needed, to ensure water is not escaping from the catch basin and damaging the base of the asphalt. Once the catch basin is repaired, new hot asphalt is applied and graded to ensure the correct flow of water. The asphalt is compacted and roped off to ensure adequate curing time. Benefits of Asphalt Repair

Prolonged Asphalt Lifespan

Repairing the asphalt surface by removing the damaged areas and replacing with new hot asphalt ensures the longevity of the entire asphalt surface. Leaving damaged asphalt unattended will cause further damage by water penetration and base degradation. Whether it is cracked areas, potholes or a catch basin, completing the necessary asphalt repairs will ensure the structure lasts longer.

Cost Effective Solution

Leaving the damaged asphalt unmaintained will end up costing more than repairing it. The damage to the surrounding asphalt and base will continue to occur, until the whole asphalt surface will need replacing as opposed to the smaller areas that would only require to be patched. A full repave is a very costly project and it is highly disruptive to daily business operations. It can be avoided by following through with a simple and effective asphalt repair project.

Increased Curb Appeal

Your asphalt surface is one of the first attributes a customer experiences when viewing and entering your property. Having an unmaintained parking lot full of potholes, cracked asphalt and ineffective catch basins speaks volumes about the quality of products and services offered at your business. Timely asphalt repairs can keep your parking lot looking well maintained and give customers a piece of mind when arriving at your property. Hot asphalt repairs are one of the many parking lot maintenance services we offer. Contact now for a free consultation regarding your asphalt repair project.

Increased Safety Measures

Leaving asphalt repair issues such as potholes, large cracks, and ineffective catch basins unattended can lead to situations where both pedestrians and vehicles are put at risk. Large potholes can become damaging to vehicles and people alike. Large pools of water caused by catch basin issues can freeze and become hazardous areas that are likely to cause injury. Repairing the asphalt described in these situations can make the parking lot a safer area for both vehicles and pedestrians and offer increased protection from liability charges. Contact now for your free consultation and see how our asphalt repair services can make your property safer for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
